Email us and we reply within two business days. Tell us your iOS version and what happened — it saves a round trip.
Both the Monthly and Yearly plans start with a 3-day free trial that includes 2 photo scans. If you do not cancel before day three, the subscription begins and the full scan allowance unlocks — 90 scans a month on Monthly, 1095 a year on Yearly.
Buy a scan credit pack from the Account tab. Credit packs never expire and stack on top of your subscription. Adding meals by hand is always free and unlimited.
On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then CalScan, then Cancel Subscription. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
Open the Account tab and tap Restore purchases. That reconnects your Apple ID to your plan and returns any credit packs you have bought before, including on a new phone. If it still does not appear, email us with the date of purchase.
Apple handles all payments, so refunds go through reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue them ourselves.
Estimating food from a photo is genuinely hard, especially with sauces, cooking oil and mixed dishes. That is why every number is editable. On the result screen tap Not quite right? and correct the name, portion or macros. Editing is free and never uses a scan. You can also tap any meal already in your diary to fix it.
Yes. On the home screen tap Add manually next to your meal list. Enter the calories and, if you know them, the macros. It costs nothing.
Get the whole plate in frame with reasonable light and try again. If the item genuinely is food, add it by hand — you will not lose a scan for the failed attempt.
Tap a date in the strip at the top of the home screen. The Progress tab shows your seven-day chart and lets you log your weight.
Open Your plan from the icon at the top right of the home screen. You can change your goal, activity level, weight, height and age at any time, and the target recalculates. CalScan will not set a target below a safe minimum, so if you asked for a very aggressive deficit you will see a note explaining that we raised it.
Yes — Your plan → Units, or the kg/lb toggle during setup.
Open Settings → CalScan on your iPhone and turn on Camera and Photos.
Check your connection and try again. If it keeps failing, our analysis service may be busy — wait a few minutes. No scan is consumed by a failed attempt.
Yes. Your diary, history and weight log are stored on your device only, and deleting the app removes them. We keep no copy, which also means we cannot restore them. Subscriptions and credit packs are tied to your Apple ID and do come back via Restore purchases.
CalScan is for healthy adults aged 18 and over. It is not medical or nutritional advice and should not be used during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, alongside a medical condition affected by diet, or by anyone with a history of disordered eating.
If tracking food is making you anxious or preoccupied, please stop and speak to a doctor or a registered dietitian. Nothing this app tells you is worth your health.
